White Masterbatch

Titanium dioxide based colour concentrate for white shades, opacity and brightness in plastic applications.

Overview

What it is and where it fits.

White masterbatch is a concentrated dispersion of titanium dioxide in a carrier polymer. It is added during processing to give the finished part a white shade together with the opacity that many packaging and moulded products need.

Because titanium dioxide scatters light, white masterbatch is often used where a part has to hide what is behind it, carry printing clearly, or present a bright, clean surface.

We select and supply a suitable option based on your polymer, process, and the whiteness and opacity you are working towards.

Typical applications

Common areas of use.

  • Film and packaging

White films where opacity, brightness and print quality matter.

  • Injection moulding

Moulded parts and closures requiring a clean, even white surface.

  • Blow moulding

Bottles and containers where wall opacity protects the contents.

  • Sheet and thermoforming

Sheets and formed parts that need consistent whiteness across the run.

  • Woven sacks and raffia

Tapes and woven products supplied in white shades.

  • Base for other shades

Used alongside colour masterbatch where opacity is needed under a shade.

What to tell us

Details that help us recommend the right option.

  1. 01

    Base polymer

The polymer you process, so the carrier can be matched to it.

  2. 02

    Process type

Film extrusion, moulding, sheet or another process.

  3. 03

    Opacity and whiteness target

How opaque and how bright the finished part needs to be, with any reference.

  4. 04

    Wall thickness or film gauge

Thinner sections usually need more attention to opacity.

  5. 05

    Quantity and delivery location

Volumes and where in India the material has to reach.

Detailed technical specifications and datasheets will be published as our product documentation is finalised.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What is white masterbatch?
White masterbatch is a concentrated blend of titanium dioxide pigment in a carrier polymer. It is added during processing to give plastics a white shade along with opacity and brightness.
Why is titanium dioxide used?
Titanium dioxide scatters light strongly, which is what gives white plastics their opacity and whiteness. The loading and grade chosen affect how opaque and how bright the finished part looks.
Can the white shade be matched to a reference?
Yes. Send us your reference sample or shade requirement and we will work on matching it as part of our shade matching support.
Do you supply across India?
Yes. THAKUR INDUSTRIES is based in Nagpur, Maharashtra and supplies customers across India.
